ATLANTA, January 23, 2026 – MetroDerm is pleased to welcome Maya Patel, PA-C, a nationally certified physician assistant, to its dermatology team. Maya brings a strong background in general dermatology, preventive medicine, and patient-centered aesthetic care, with a commitment to evidence-based treatment and long-term patient relationships.
Maya works alongside Dr. Julia Neckman and sees patients at MetroDerm’s Alpharetta, Lilburn, and Atlanta-Sandy Springs locations. Her clinical approach emphasizes education, collaboration, and personalized care plans designed to help patients feel confident in their skin.
“I believe in listening first, educating always, and partnering with patients to create realistic, effective care plans,” says Maya. “When patients feel informed and involved in their care, outcomes are better and trust grows.”
A Georgia native, Maya grew up in Duluth, Georgia, and graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and a minor in Biology. Before pursuing her graduate education, she worked as a medical assistant at MetroDerm’s Alpharetta office, gaining hands-on experience and deepening her passion for dermatology. She went on to earn her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Nova Southeastern University.
Maya’s interest in dermatology stems from its unique ability to address both medical needs and quality of life.
“I was drawn to the PA profession because it allows me to practice medicine collaboratively while building meaningful, long-term relationships with patients,” she explains. “Dermatology stood out to me because skin health directly affects both physical well-being and self-confidence. I love that it combines medical management, procedures, and patient education, allowing me to make a visible difference in patients’ lives.”
The Georgia Composite Medical Board licenses Maya and maintains national certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA), Georgia Dermatology Physician Assistants (GDPA), and the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants (GAPA).
