Message From the CEO

Welcome to the inaugural edition of our United Derm Partners (UDP) newsletter! Here in Nashville, fall is not quite in the air, but we feel the changes of the season coming. And just like the weather, there are many changes at UDP. In fact, there is so much activity happening in all of our practices that it will be difficult to fit it all into one newsletter!

First, let’s welcome Dermatology Clinic of Idaho and Sierra Skin Institute to our UDP family. We are excited to welcome Dr. Stewart and his team at Dermatology Clinic of Idaho, and look forward to expanding our presence in Boise, Idaho. In Nevada, Skin Cancer and Dermatology Institute (SCDI) has also been busy! We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Ostezan and her team at Sierra Skin Institute to the SCDI team, which recently expanded into two new locations (Incline Village and Sparks). A special thank you goes out to the SCDI team and Dr. Hibler for their leadership and hard work designing and opening these two new sites. Also, I would like to recognize SCDI’s Dr. Whitney Hovenic, as she was recently voted the best Dermatologist in Reno by the Reno Gazette Journal. Congratulations, Dr. Hovenic! We are proud to partner with exceptional providers like you.

I’m excited to share with the team that we recently held our very first Medical Advisory Board (MAB) meeting. The MAB created their charter, which is to promote UDP’s mission and vision by serving as the clinical and quality experts for our dermatology practices and dermatopathology labs across the country. The MAB advises UDP affiliates regarding clinical protocols, formularies, clinical quality, and other matters relating to safety, excellence, and the satisfaction of our providers, staff, and patients. The first meeting was a resounding success in which the Board tackled many initiatives, including the request for UDP to develop two repositories – one for education and one for clinical protocols. We will work to roll out these new initiatives over the next few weeks.
